“Boy, first of all, she’s got a body that just, you know, even women kind of go, ‘Oh OK! I’ll sleep with that!’ ”
—Says Cougar Town‘s resident older-woman-on-the-prowl Carolyn Hennesy when we asked her what exactly makes costar Courteney Cox so absolutely cougarlicious. Sure, Court’s cuckoo mama may not be dating the younger dudes on the show anymore, but she was bumping TV nasties with Nick Zano (of the young and buff H’wood crowd).
And we say hell, yes, thank heaven for characters life Jules Cobb on our boobtube! When else are female friendships and their women’s sexual adventures represented in a realistic (and mostly classy) way on prime-time basic cable?
Uh, like friggin’ never.
Indeed, Carolyn added about yum-fun Courteney: “She’s stunningly beautiful. She’s fiercely driven; she knows exactly what she wants. She’s in control pretty much 100 percent of the time that I see her because, let’s face it, she’s also one of the executive producers. And that is, at any age, I think incredibly attractive to young men. It’s like ‘OK, take me by the hand and show me what to do!’ And she can do it.”
It’s Official: ABC is confirming what I first reported last month: Courteney Cox will reunite with her former Friends costar (and real-life BFF) Jennifer Aniston in the show’s second-season premiere on Sept. 22.
Who will she play? Keep reading for all the exclusive details straight from exec producer Bill Lawrence…
“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” reveals Lawrence, referring to Cox’s character, Jules. “Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has.”
This marks only the second time the pair have worked together on a scripted series since Friends went off the air in 2004. Their first reunion was in 2007, when they re-teamed for an episode of Cox’s FX dramedy Dirt.
Lawrence says Cox rightly wanted to get Cougar Town on its feet before playing the Aniston card. “It took us a while to find the show,” acknowledges Lawrence. “And once we did and once it was clicking, I think that not only did Courteney feel comfortable talking to Jen about doing it, but comfortable in how funny she thinks the show is and that Jen would like it and fit into this world really well.”
“It starts and ends with Courteney and Jennifer being really great friends and excited to work together again—especially doing comedy together,” Lawrence adds. “Every day that those two talk they have more ideas about [the role]. It’s definitely something they’re both involved in creatively.”
Lawrence is hoping viewers that tune in for Aniston’s guest appearance will realize the show has evolved from its original conceit and stick around. “I want as many people as I can get to see what the show kind of became last year,” he says. “It went from a typical TV show trying to find itself to something that I’m really proud of and like and think is really funny.”
But back to Aniston, given the massive amounts of emotional baggage that Cox’s character carries around, might we see Aniston’s shrink return? “We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while, and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again,” he says. “So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.”

While Jennifer Aniston made a bounty in Hollywood after finishing off ‘Friends’, her co-star and friend in the hit sitcom Courteney Cox has said that she was just too shy to venture for the big screen.
The 46-year-old, who played Monica Geller, watched Jennifer, 41, take a string of lead roles in Hollywood flicks, but says she did not have the confidence to go to auditions.
“I always talked myself out of going in to read. I don’t know if I had that much confidence,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“I was always thinking I needed to do something else, be more mysterious,” she added.
Courteney, who managed to land a role in the Scream films despite her shyness, has gone on to front popular comedy series Cougar Town, playing a divorcee in her 40s.
She admits she is “much more content” but says she is still hurt by having been the only one of the Friends cast not to have been nominated for an Emmy award.
“My ego got really bruised. When everyone did but me that doesn’t feel good at all. There were certain years I thought, ‘Maybe I have a shot’, like the Monica-Chandler years. I don’t know how it happens and why. Maybe I wasn’t ready,” she told Emmy magazine.
The actress, who is married to actor David Arquette with whom she has a six-year-old daughter Coco, also said that “ageing is nobody’s friend”.
“One second ago I was the youngest person on the set and now I’m the oldest. I’m so old my joints hurt when I keep my legs crossed a certain way for too long. I need glasses to see a movie, to see the computer and to read a book,” she said.
Courteney Cox has revealed that she never pursued starring in romantic comedies as a younger actress.
The Cougar Town star admitted that she lacked the self-esteem to dive into the genre but has claimed that at 46 years old she is now confident enough to take on any role.
Speaking to Emmy magazine, she said: “I always talked myself out of going in to read. I don’t know if I had that much confidence. [Today] I’m much more content. I was always thinking that I needed to do something else, be more mysterious. I felt the need to prove myself. Now I’m not going to be the ingénue anymore. I’m probably not going to do a lot of the things that I wish I had done, but now I don’t care.”
The actress also insisted that after an 11-year marriage to David Arquette, she still can’t believe how “different” the two are from one another.
Cox added: “He was pretty dangerous, like a bad boy. I was so young. We’re so different that each year I can’t believe how different we are. The one thing that’s similar is that we have a similar sense of humour. Well, no, that’s not true. We do not have a similar sense of humour, but his is so broad that I fit in part of it. He’s a unique human being, and a real character.”
I’ve finally made a new layout for the site. I hope you like it. I had to use those pictures they are just too gorgeous. I still have a few minors things to fix but nothing that can’t be done while the site is online. So anyway I hope you enjoy the layout and as usual its best view in Firefox baby!!:)
Actress Courteney Cox ‘can’t believe how different’ her and husband David Arquette are.The 46-year-old has revealed that each year she realises more and more how dissimilar the pair are.
When asked about her initial attraction to David, the Scream 4 star told Emmy magazine: ‘He was pretty dangerous, like a bad boy – I was so young.
‘We are so different that each year I can’t believe how different we are.’
But Cox added that they do have one similarity.
She said: ‘The one thing that is similar is that we have a similar sense of humour.
‘Well, no, that’s not true, we do not have a similar sense of humour, but his is so broad that I fit in part of it.’
The Cougar Town star added: ‘He’s a unique human being, and a real character.’
Courteney also admitted that being the only Friends cast member not to receive an Emmy nomination did not feel good.
She said: ‘I tell you, my ego got really bruised, when everyone did but me, that does not feel good at all.
‘There were certain years I thought, ‘Maybe I have a shot,’ like the Monica-Chandler years but I don’t know how it happens and why or how – maybe I wasn’t ready.”
