Courteney Cox was hard at work on the set of her new television series, Cougar Town, in Culver City, CA today (September 8).
At one point, the gorgeous actress’ husband David Arquette – who is celebrating his 38th birthday today — made a surprise visit with their adorable daughter Coco, thoughtfully bringing his wife some lunch.
The birthday boy later jetted off, leaving his wife to get back to work, and 5-year-old Coco to be looked after by a nanny on set.
Cougar Town, a somehwat raunchy comedy about a recently divorced mom in Florida looking to date, premieres September 23.
Says Courteney of her man-hungry 40-something-year-old small screen alter ego: “I hope this show is a huge hit and that people love it. Because I like playing this character more than any character I’ve ever played.”
Even more than Monica Geller? More than Gale Weathers, the tabloid reporter from the Scream movies? “Yeah!” she says proudly. “This show says what I think.”
The broadcast networks once again will give viewers extra chances to catch the premieres of their new series.
“Cougar Town” (ABC, Wednesday, September 23 at 9:30/8:30c) – Friday, September 25 at 9:30/8:30c
Courteney Cox has found her groove with Cougar Town. The 45-year-old television actress said she is more enthusiastic about the series than anything she has ever done.
Cox plays a divorced mother trying to find love in Florida. She said: “I hope this show is a huge hit and that people love it. Because I like playing this character more than any character I’ve ever played.”
Bill Lawrence, co-creator of Cougar with Kevin Biegel, said Cox’s character, Jules, is built around her real-life personality. Lawrence said: “I wanted her to be like Courteney. If you talk to Courteney when she’s off-guard, or when she’s being herself, she’s incredibly frank, she’s incredibly brassy. Very opinionated, very self-deprecating. But at heart she’s still a goofball.”
DAVID ARQUETTE was determined to make his hunger charity fundraising drive a success – and called on his wife Courteney Cox and her COUGAR TOWN co-stars to donate to the cause.
The actor is a spokesperson for the Cheesecake Factory’s Drive Out Hunger Tour, which is currently trekking across the U.S. in a bid to collect 100,000 cans of soup to support local food banks.
Arquette made sure he was hands-on with the appeal, recently driving a collection truck through Los Angeles to pick up canned goods for the cause.
And he made an unexpected stop at the ABC network’s studios to receive donations from his wife Cox, as well as her Cougar Town co-star Busy Phillips and Scrubs star Zach Braff, reports New York Post’s gossip column PageSix.
Thanks to Rosie for the heads up,Courteney will be on Conan O’Brien September 18th 2009. Watch in on NBC at 11.35 PM.
Check back later the next day for clips and caps of the interview
