Celebrating 15 years in horror, the Scream franchise has a brand new film, Scream 4 – hitting theaters April 15th – as well as the Scream trilogy arriving on Blu-ray Disc for the first time ever March 29! Horror fans will scream like never before as Lionsgate debuts Miramax’s Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3 in 1080P High Definition and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
From the master of horror, Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street), these horror fan favorites feature an all-star cast of victims including Courteney Cox (TV’s “Cougar Town”), Jada Pinkett Smith (Collateral), Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Neve Campbell (Wild Things).
The first three films of the series will be available on Blu-ray Disc and will include an array of behind the scenes featurettes, audio commentaries by Craven and deleted scenes.
Scream: After a series of mysterious deaths befalls their small town, an offbeat group of friends led by Sydney Prescott (Campbell) become the target of a masked killer in this smash-hit “clever thriller” (The Washington Post) that launched the Scream franchise and breathed new life into the horror genre. The Blu-ray Disc features audio commentary, a production featurette, behind the scenes footage, a Q&A with cast and crew plus the theatrical trailer.
Scream 2: Away at college, Sidney Prescott (Campbell) thought she’d finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her… until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel. Now as history repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Cox), deputy Dewey (Arquette) and other Scream survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe – or beyond suspicion – in this “delicious, diabolical and fun” (Rolling Stone) sequel. The Blu-ray Disc features include audio commentary, deleted scenes with optional audio commentary, outtakes, a featurette and the theatrical trailer.
Scream 3: While Sidney Prescott (Campbell) lives in safely guarded seclusion, bodies begin dropping around the Hollywood set of Stab 3, the latest movie based on the gruesome Woodsboro killings. The escalating terror finally brings Sidney out of hiding, drawing her and the other survivors once again into an insidious game of horror movie mayhem that’s a “suspenseful, clever and very entertaining” (NBC-TV) installment in the wildly popular Scream franchise. The Blu-ray Disc features include audio commentary, deleted scenes and an alternate ending, outtakes, behind the scenes footage and the theatrical trailer.

Much like the Parks and Recreation crew during their downtime, the Cougar Town cast and crew are going to be keeping busy on Vulture during their two-month hiatus. Creators Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel have kindly agreed to put their downtime to good use by settling a series of long-simmering disputes between the show’s actors and writers right here on Vulture. Each week, a different cast member will help air out a rift between him or herself and the scribes — and then settle said grievance once and for all. This week, we kick off with Dan Byrd, who plays Courteney Cox’s long-suffering son, Travis. Turns out his Bieber-simple hairstyle is the subject of much scorn on the show’s set, and the time has come for an intervention. Click the video to see what happens, then come back to Vulture every Wednesday for a new grudge match.?
I’ve had a couple of emails over the last week asking for dates that Scream 4 is to be released in peoples countries. I thought it would be best to add them up here, and hopefully this will cover most people

It seems former ‘Friends’ star Courteney Cox is looking into enhancing her cooking skills after she made an appearance on a food show.
Cox, 46, appeared on ‘The Next Food Network Star’ with celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
“The show is filmed on the same lot as ‘Cougar Town’, so it was easy for her to come over and appear as a guest judge,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.
The actress was last week photographed with a walking stick on her Los Angeles set after she had some minor knee surgery.
Somewhere, there’s a resort in Hawaii stocking up on merlot. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Cougar Town has finalized a deal to shoot its second-season finale on location in the Aloha State!
On second thought, maybe all the resorts in Hawaii are stocking up on wine.
Anyway, no further details on the sure-to-be-intoxicating sweeps stunt are as yet available, but it seems pretty safe to say that the CDS Crew will be going on a little family vacation. (Do they do anything alone?) Perhaps the jaunt is to celebrate Travis successfully completing his freshman year of college? Jules and Grayson getting engaged? Laurie… well, just being Laurie?
Whatever the reason, it’s becoming something of a tradition for ABC to send its comedies to Hawaii. Last year, you’ll recall, Modern Family shot an episode in Maui. Frankly, though, with Cougar Town off the air for the next (gasp! shudder!) 10 weeks (in a — sob! — row!), I think we deserve the trip, don’t we?
Thoughts? Lei it on the line below…
This Wednesday at 9:30/8:30c, Cougar Town uncorks its last fresh episode for 10-1/2 weeks. That’s right, there’s a “1/2? added in there now that ABC has decided to welcome the sophomore comedy back with a special aprés-Dancing With the Stars time slot on Monday, April 18.
So the good news is that although Matthew Perry’s Mr. Sunshine will claim Cougar Town‘s Wednesday slot starting February 9, and while you now have an additional five days to wait for Jules & Co. to crack open a new bottle of cab, the show will get an ultra-premium showcase upon its return.
There’s also this: “We have plans to provide all sorts of extra content (as you will see during the next ep’s title card) during this gap,” series boss Bill Lawrence shared in a “thank you” letter to us press types. (Hmm, maybe the online version of Penny Can will be kicked up a notch, allowing me a chance to break 70,000 points or “toss copper” from Bobby’s boat?)
Lawrence says he himself is “bummed” about the midseason break “because the last chunk of episodes are really about something.” Explaining that the writers’ yearly formula kicks off with of a short story arc (this season: Travis’ relocation to college) followed by “10-12 vibey-hang out episodes,” when Cougar Town resumes in April the big theme will revolve around “Travis’ descent, and watching him surprisingly follow his Dad’s footsteps.”
“We really love it,” Lawrence says of the springtime run of episodes. “Hope you do, too, when you finally see it.”
But enough with the preemptive wine-ing, folks. Slap out of it and get psyched for tonight’s new episode!
The ABC Television Network announced additional airings this spring of comedy series “Better with You,” “Cougar Town” and “Happy Endings.”
“Cougar Town” will air on a special night and time, MONDAY, APRIL 18 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET), following a 90-minute episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” and returns to the schedule in its regular timeslot on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET).
Cougar Town may be about to disappear from TV schedules for two months, but no need to start binge drinking merlot just yet. Days after ABC renewed the comedy for a third season, the stars and executive producers welcomed reporters to its Los Angeles set to preview what’s coming up next for the cul-de-sac crew. In between gazing at Big Carl revealing which star is the best at Penny Can (Ian Gomez says Josh Hopkins is the one to beat), the cast and crew discussed Jules and Grayson’s next big obstacle, Bobby’s love life and the cliff-hanger ahead for Travis and Kirsten.
A (Baby) Speed Bump Is on the Way for Jules and Grayson: Now that Grayson was (Hopkins) finally able to man up and tell Jules (Courteney Cox) he loves her, there are only clear skies ahead for one of the cul-de-sac’s cutest couples, right? Wrong! “The tension, at some point, is going to come from the fact that Grayson wants kids and Jules doesn’t,” Hopkins tells TVGuide.com. “That’s where it’s headed.”
Will We Get to Meet Andy’s Lesbian Sister?: Following guest spots by Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Ken Jenkins, Cougar Town‘s friends and family policy is next hoping to include Gomez’s wife, My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos. Lawrence hopes to get her on the show before the end of the year, but who will she play? “She’s probably going to try to be one of the guy’s love interests. I’m hoping that she’s my lesbian sister or something like that,” Gomez jokes. “I’m not trying to pitch any ideas because I trust that they’re going to come up with something great.”
Bobby Is Playing the Field (in More Ways Than One): Season 2 has been a big growing year for Bobby, who saw his only son head off to college and is now determined to return to golf professionally. “I’m happy that [co-creators and executive producers] Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel decided to have Bobby evolve more and have a little bit more success rather than screwing up constantly and being the lovable loser,” Brian Van Holt says. This new maturity also pushes Bobby to re-enter the dating scene with the inevitable successes and failures along the way. “He has a difficult time holding down a girlfriend,” he says with a laugh.
Is There Trouble in Paradise for Travis?: The writers plan to embrace the hiatus with a small cliff-hanger involving Travis (Dan Byrd) and his girlfriend, Kirsten (Collette Wolfe) “It’s a situation that closely resembles maybe what Jules’ past was — although it doesn’t mirror it,” Biegel says.”Young love is a big part of it. Jules dealing with that kind of takes us through the end of the year.”
More Penny Can Is Coming!: Fans clamoring for more Penny Can, you’re not alone. The gang’s favorite game — both on-screen and off- according to the cast themselves — will be soon available for purchase Biegel promises, adding that an upcoming episode will center on the game, “There’s a big story coming with Penny Can where Bobby tries to sell Penny Can and becomes a baron and makes money and it’s shockingly successful.”
Cougar Town airs Wednesday at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.
Popsugar visited the set of Cougar Town on Wednesday and was treated to a conversation with Courteney Cox. The actress, who will be reprising her role as tabloid reporter-turned-author Gale Weathers, had this to say about her on-set experience:
How was it stepping back into the Scream franchise?
CC: That character is really over the top, and I just realized that was 10 years ago; all of the actors on the set, the new group, they’re very subdued, kind of quiet. And I stick out like a sore thumb; I was like “Gail Weathers is back!” Like, are they going to talk any louder at all? They are very cool, and I’m older, and not as cool. But I stepped into my character; we’ll see what happens. Dewey was Dewey! But then, you know, people have changed. People are cooler than me.
And then there was talk of future sequels…
Is it true that there will be more Scream films after this one?
CC: There is going to be a Scream 4, 5, and 6. [But] I don’t know anything.
So there you have it: Further confirmation that Scream 4, if received well, will usher in a new trilogy. (Lucy Hale said as much earlier in the week.) But will Cox’s character live long enough to die another day?
A half-dozen ABC shows have received early pickups for the 2011-12 TV season.
On the comedy side, ABC has assured that Modern Family, Cougar Town and The Middle are coming back.
On the drama side, ABC confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Castle are returning.
There are no surprises among the dramas coming back, and Modern Family obviously is a breakout hit on the comedy side. But Paul Lee, the president of ABC Entertainment, said the patience his network has shown with Cougar Town and The Middle slowly has started to pay dividends.
“There are many dramas that come out fully formed, but with comedies, typically, it takes time for that group to find themselves,” Lee said. “That’s what those half-hour slots are, great opportunities to do that.”
