At the Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles Tuesday night, Courteney Cox was being honored for Cougar Town (our guilty pleasure). And BFF Jennifer Aniston, fresh with a Maui bronze, made a surprise appearance to support her pal.
Like on Kim Cattrall, age looks so good on these two, if we may say so, especially when they don’t try so damn hard.
So what magic potion makes Court so sexy?
“Experience,” she told us on the carpet with a sly smirk.
Somehow we think David Arquette, who stuck by his beau’s side all night, agrees. By the way, for those of you keeping track, C & D are one of the more functional couples in Hollywood. Sure, they may have some problems (who doesn’t?) but they’re totally a fab fit together.
CC also ‘fessed how her show mimics her real life and real friends, which is why it’s so successful.
“I just think that there are so many characters,” Cox dished. “I’m not saying it’s like Friends. It’s a different kind of show, but there’s someone you can relate to. It’s funny, it’s silly, it’s also heartfelt. It’s about a dysfunctional—well not dysfunctional—growing family of people who are trying to make it in the world. And they drink lots of wine!”
Just made a small update in the gallery with some things that were missed whilst I was away. How gorgeous does Courteney look in the new PSA? Check out the video here
Courteney Cox is a lot younger than most of her husband’s ex-lovers.
The 45-year-old actress says David Arquette – who, at 38, is seven years younger than her – has always adored older women and most of his previous partners were a lot older than she is.
Discussing what her husband thinks about her being a “cougar” she explained:
“He loves it! Let me tell you, I’m young compared to some people he’s dated – he likes older women. Always has.
“I don’t have a problem with cougars. My husband David is much younger than me, so I’ve been blazing that trail for over 10 years. To me, it’s just someone who dates younger men, so who cares?”
‘Cougar Town’ star Courteney – who has five-year-old daughter Coco with her husband – believes a lot of men are attracted to older women because they know what they want and don’t play mind games. She added to Stylist magazine:
“I used to think a cougar was a woman who had lots of plastic surgery, who was trying to look younger, and dating what she thought was her contemporary even though she was so much older. Now I just think it’s a woman who’s confident, who uses her confidence to dateyounger guys. There are a lot of men who actually are more attracted to older women because there’s no game-playing. I know that’s true of my husband.”
While Courteney doesn’t mind getting older, she doesn’t think this would be the case if she was single.
I am happy being 45. I’m lucky, I’m married to someone who is not judgmental about aging at all. But it would be really scary if I wasn’t married and had to go back out there.”
That’s the truth! Hitting milestones don’t bother me one bit. However, I have single friends who are not in serious relationships and are starting to get concerned with their age and status. It all depends where you are in your life. Was 30 hard for you? 40?
Courteney Cox has admitted that she is much ruder than her Cougar Town character.
The actress explained that she loves filming sex scenes for the show, The People reports.
“I’m pretty dirty, so I love pushing it to that limit,” she said. “There’s a part when my son walks in on me when I’m with this younger man, and that’s happened to a friend of mine. She pretended to be like, ‘Oh, there you are’.”
Cox added that the conversations her character has in the show are realistic.
“This is just girls talking, real-life stuff,” she explained. “My friend Christa Miller who is in Cougar Town was over last night and our conversations were a thousand times worse than the ones we have on the show.”
She continued: “I think it’s important to be relevant and real and I like to push things, but I’m surprised what we’ve got away with. And I hope it stays that way.”
Former ‘Friends’ star Courtney Cox has admitted that having a baby at the age of 40 took its toll on her figure. Cox, now 45, welcomed her daughter Coco with husband David Arquette in 2004.And the actress insists that she struggled when Coco was born because of the impact that late birth had on her body.
The Daily Star quoted her as saying:
‘I just couldn’t believe I had a baby and I didn’t know what to do with her,”
“Things get harder the older you get. Forty-five is hard and it struck a nerve with me,” she added.
Courteney Cox can’t work out how old most people in Hollywood are as they’ve all had so much plastic surgery.
The actress loves living in Los Angeles, but admits there are some strange aspects to her life there. She is currently appearing in TV show Cougar Town, in which she plays a divorcee who starts dating younger guys. Courteney says there are lots of cougars where she lives, although it can be hard to tell their actual age as they all undergo copious cosmetic operations.
“It’s strange because I used to think cougars were women who had excessive amounts of plastic surgery and wanted to look young to date guys,” she explained. “It was just, like, inappropriate. But now I think they’re simply women who feel confident enough to go out with younger men, just like men have been doing their whole lives. But I can’t tell how old anyone is these days anyway – particularly in Hollywood. It’s ridiculous!”
Courteney, 45, has five-year-old daughter Coco with her husband David Arquette, 38. She loves partying with other cougars, explaining they often make her laugh.
She told Look magazine..
“Yes, I had a cougar over to my house on Sunday,I didn’t ask her if she watched the show but she was a fully-fledged, no doubt about it, cougar.”
Christa Miller believes Cougar Town viewers will see a different side to Courteney Cox when the show kicks off in the UK next week.
The actress – who plays Ellie Torres in the show, which is created by her husband Bill Lawrence – said Courteney’s character is more like the actress in real life than her Friends alter-ego Monica Geller.
She said: “She’s goofy and silly in real life, I mean she definitely has a goofy sense of humour and is clumsy and goofy. I think Bill (Lawrence, Cougar Town creator) is writing for her more what she’s really like in real life.”
Christa went on: “Her character on Friends was so incredibly popular and you see her and think that’s the person, when she’s not really at all like that.”
Christa believes the show, which has been a hit in the States, could last as long as Bill’s other creation Scrubs – which she also starred in.
“I read it and don’t think it’s just doing one pilot – I think it could go for eight years,” she said.
She added: “When this script came up I was so happy that Courteney asked me to play her best friend on the show.”
:: Cougar Town begins on Living on Tuesday, March 30 at 9pm.
